I want to send a thank you gift to a friend in France

I've chosen to send jewellery, nothing too expensive but I want it to get there (around £50)

I've no experience of the French postal service

I'm wondering whether it would be better by post or using a courier service?

Usually pretty reliable, but I'd pay the extra for a tracked service for something that valuable.

Postal service here comparable to UK. We had a letter take 2 weeks to get from one side of Paris to the other recently. I don't think my wife (French) would send anything costing £50 by normal post. How expensive is it to send it tracked ?

Royal Mail Small parcel to France will get there in a couple of days. Can buy it all online and just drop off at a Post Office.
