I'm still waiting for Cougar to tell us precisely what TSY did to get a ban.

I do remember I had an exchange with him at one point about something and the way he made his points left me wanting to find out where he lived and then crap through his letter box.

I've heard that TJ continues to read the forum and may occasionally supply certain users with his opinions and/or evidence to back up their arguments.

Last I heard GW was on a self imposed Internet ban, presumably being as awesome as he was at it was taking up too much of his time.

My nostalgia for the forum of years past isn't really about specific posters, but more about a time when I spent more time on here and felt more part of its community. There's a bunch of people I used to ride with who I don't see much in real life anymore, nor on here. Coogan (formerly Vosh) is still about and so is epicsteve but I haven't actually seen them for years and others like dgoab, winstonsmith and a bunch of the Sterling riders are even more dim memories really. Epic trolling or argument threads aren't part of my forum memories, as much as the friendly chat threads that sprung up before and after rides and meet-ups.

Coogan (formerly Vosh) is still about

He's not the same man, though. He's ridden a bicycle competitively for crying out loud...

I don't think I can do that really, you'll have to take my word for it. If anyone knows him IRL to tell him he can come back if he wants, then you can ask him yourself.

Cressers.

He'd have had a field day over the last couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, still around. Looks like the moony didn't do it's trick.

Tell you who I don't miss...French Juan / Foxy Boy.

Dunno TBH. I don't suppose it makes much difference, but I'm not seeing much of a compelling reason to hit the Reset Button.

LOL no but he was ripping on something, I can't exactly remember what. I think it was related to psychometric testing IIRC.

I don't think I can do that really

No I'm pretty sure you can't! 😯

I loved the brief appearance of Flapjackie. Her only ever post got deleted although doubt she really existed. Was one of the funnier posts on here.

The one person I truly miss every day though both in real life and on here was Chris_db. A wonderful gent who sadly passed away earlier this year and is the person who got me back into biking and also introduced me to STW. Wasn't the most prevalent poster but was always happy to offer advice. Very missed by a lot of folk.

Louisa-aka-Bliggy and Mike-aka-BigMike.

(I may have got the names wrong) So much teen angst, didn't Mike grow up to be a normal adult and is still on here? I don't think Louisa actually had a bike?

It was suede wasn't it? 😀

I've FB'd him to let him know he can come back, although IIRC, the last time I tried to broker his coming in from the cold, he received no reply to his apology e-mail.

Yeah, I explained this earlier.

We'd had a discussion, and it'd been agreed that he could return. However, it would seem that everyone assumed that someone else would let him know, and so no-one actually told him.

Still, it was only three years ago. 😳

Talking of those passed:

Messiah, the destroyer of more bikes than I've personally owned (and that's a few). He walked it like he talked it. Knew him more in real life than on here though.

And that luthier guy, I think it was jahwomble?

Both missed still. very sad.

There was a young lad setting the world alight (by his own measure), kind of like a love child of hora and GW: moonshine, I think he was.

Bikeind (650b makes the trails come alive...)

Oh, and realman, partly for the ribbing he got for his sales 'tactics', mainly for the tdf threads

Mind you you're a bit scary in real life 😉

I miss Trailmonkey, his revolutionary fervour made me feel like a lightweight reformist. And Konabunny, without doubt one of the most interesting, best informed, and most amusing poster on here imo. Although I'm sure he'll come back, he always does after a long absence.
