The time has come for me to get rid of a load of stuff I've been hording over the years.

I, however, have no idea what sort of postage costs I'm looking at or where to get suitable boxes from.

I've got things like a full face helmet, a frame, forks etc. So pretty big things as well as the usual smaller bits.

Is this best estimated via courier web sites for the large stuff and post office for small things?

Cheers .

You need to check parcel dimensions and weight carefully, always insure and get a signature.  I found that the insurance charges from Parcelforce on anything valued at more than a few hundred was expensive and cheaper to send separately.

Scrounge boxes from supermarkets and other shops.  Ask lbs for fork box.  Buy bubblewrap from Ebay if you don't have any, I found branded brown parcel tape worth paying extra for.
