I hacked some out this weekend with my nephews.

I know they say a bad workman blames his tools, but I should probably use something better than a bread knife.

I reckon a fully kitted out dremel set, and you'd be able to do some awesomeness.

Well, they're pumpkins but might not meet the scary criteria

Al excellent. A few years ago we left it a tad late and ended up with a a water melon, cantaloupe melon, pineapple and a turnip.

I got the turnip and a bloody good job I did too. I'll try and find a photo.

Ace!

Going to ours later, it's my youngest Birthday today too.

Mind I have artistic talents but let the kids do them anyway.

What's the easiest way to scrape the skin down?

We have a couple older kids and a new baby. I'm carving for the older kids and they've asked I make one for the little guy so I thought I'd do a crying/wailing one as that's his thing at the moment. Searching for pictures of 'crying baby pumpkins' I came across this far scarier proposition from one of those woeful American Alpha-Mom blog sites

"Hi! I'm Chelsea!
I am a mother and wife and
I love sharing my creations and
tips I learn from life with
my littles. I hope you find
something helpful here"

How to take a picture of your baby in a pumpkin

Thanks for that Chelsea. You win the internet.
