So I had my jab on monday, I was a tad cynical about the side effects to be honest, even took the piss out of a friend who said she was suffering... then I felt like crap and was forced to eat humble pie. Wasnt too bad, felt rough monday evening, a bit shoddy tues and ok wed.

Thing is, I tried to train wednesday evening and I couldnt get my heart rate up and was blowing after a couple of minutes, still not hitting the numbers today, yet I feel ok in myself, i'm putting it down to another side effect, hoping it will pass soon - has anyone else experienced similar?

I only felt crap for 24/36 hours, but it took a week for strength/stamina to be close to normal. Massive DOMS after first workout on day 6.

Bearing in mind that if you have actually had covid, the suggestion is to be 7-14 days clear of any symptoms and then only train at 60% of max initially....i realise having the jab is very different, but it seems reasonable the body needs a week to reset.

FWIW I'm 1 week post jab and only now getting back to where I was, and being able to get any Z4 into my rides.

Jab on Wed evening, Thur/Fri off because I felt sub-par, Sat off because I was busy, Sun off because I couldn't be bothered, Mon, Tue, and Wed morning commutes were pretty sorry affairs, finally last night, and again this morning, I was able to give it a bit of welly.

My experience - jab last Friday. I normally go for a distance run (around 5 miles) on Saturdays but felt completely out of it so left it which was wise because by mid-afternoon I was completely exhausted just from pottering in the garden. On Sunday I felt okay but decided it would be silly to push myself so left it until Monday when I went out for a quick lunch run (just a couple of miles at a higher pace). I felt VERY fatigued on Monday night but was okay on Tuesday. Went for a short run again on Wednesday and had the same fatigue feeling in the evening but again feel okay today. On both occasions my actual running speed was normal. It will be interesting how I feel on Saturday when I go for a >5 mile run.

Jab Friday evening. 3 mile walk on Saturday, 30 mile easy road ride Sunday, no problems since.

I've been lucky.

Oh bum. Both me and Mrs WF are due ours at 3 tomorrow. Both run down from an intense week of problems leading up to the start of lambing on Sunday. Both of us being KO for the next couple of days will be a disaster. Went for a night ride last night and felt better than I have on the bike for a long time... Ah well. It is what it is.

My 2 pence worth
Had jab On a Sunday, Felt like i was having a rerun of the covid i had in january on the monday but felt pretty good compared by tuesday but felt a little jittery. Took a look at my resting heart rate and it was up from the normal 58/59 to 85/88. A little more concerning was my heart rate whilst i was driving was 134. it was like this for 3 days then dropped back to normal. To be honest ive not felt like doing any exercise since the jab.

About 3 of us at work had similar that lasted a few weeks.

Couldn’t get heart rate up no matter what I did.
Resting heart rate slightly elevated.
Felt like all fitness totally gone.
Very restless and disrupted sleep.
Strange “tickle-itches” randomly all over body.
Sweating more than usual at night and during exercise.

We all had the Pfizer jab. Those who had Astra Zeneca were a bit flu like the following few days then back to normal. The wife had the Astra Zeneca and had absolutely no side effects whatsoever.

I had Astra Zeneca on Wednesday evening. Slept fine and had a mild headache during the day on Thursday.

Thursday evening I did the Zwift TTT. Legs felt a bit wooden but I did the warm up and felt fine and no concerns with HR. During the race I hit 800w on a sprint and didn't struggle at all. Maybe a bit more tired afterwards but my Heart Rate REcovery score was the best it has been (reduction in HR over 60 seconds post a Z5 effort) so no issues whatsoever.

Did a easy endurance/recovery ride this morning and was sitting 30w higher for the same HR as 6 months ago so no concerns at all for me.

Think you just have to take it on a case by case basis.
