Really nice small tapas restaurant. Pork cheeks and the octopus were great here. You might need to book.

Cervejaria Ramiro
A great seafood restaurant. Clams and the giant prawns were lovely. A casual place, you can't book. Might be a short queue for a table but theres a place to sit as you wait. Great for Lunch

Restaurante 100 Maneiras
Restaurant with a different 10 course tasting menu every day for €60. Nice food. Small portions but lots of courses. They do a nice wine pairing with it. Need to book.

Other things:
The fancy elevator is worth going to see.
We took the Tram 28. It was quite nice. Be careful on it though it is notorious for pick pockets.
Eat lots of custard tarts!

Yeap, all of these.
Go to Belem, eat tarts and visit museums.
Go to Sintra, visit castles (one Moorish, the other utterly and wonderfully impractically insane).
So much – we need to go back. Great city.
The queues for Tram 28 can be long, and there others that go on similar routes.
+1 for Belem & Sintra
also Padrão dos Descobrimentos is intriguing,
Lisbon is lovely, but quite grimy, compared to other European cities.
Tram 28 - we caught it from the terminus. Q's not a problem.
Time Out market. Good food, live music and a decent cocktail bar.
Trip out to Belem - custard tarts, Henry the Nav monument, monastery, castle and an excellent modern art gallery will pretty much pass a day.
Stayed at Ronaldo's Pestana CR11 hotel, which was central, clean and comfortable. Yeah, city is a bit down at heel in places, but didn't bother us at all.
Beware pickpockets.
Excellent city. I hope you’re flying with TAP Air for the most bonkers flight you’ll ever have!
Time out market is decent if not a bit packed.
We got absolutely leathered whilst walking up a flight of stairs called Calçada do Duque, there’s about a million steps with bars all the way up.
There’s also a hilltop castle with great views.
Thanks for all the ideas. For some reason I've got it in my head that it's a bit like Havana. We'll see!!
Fantastic city, I thought it was like a cultural mini San Fransico, absolutely loved it.
There's also fantastic cycling locally, I had the owner of Funbike at Sintra pick me up from my hotel in Lisbon at 12:00 and was out in the hills riding by 13:00 with a local guide, 3hr tour in the hills and back at the hotel for 17:00, flippin brilliant ride out.
