New patio time!
Starting to look at new slabs for the patio and just wondering what peoples experiences are with porcelain slabs.
We had teakwood sandstone at our old place which was lovely but marked really easy and started to get stained. It was sealed when put down (maybe I should have resealed over time).
Anyone have porcelain? How's it holding up? Does it hide the smells from underneath?
Does it hide the smells from underneath?
im chuckling .... but only because I know the etymology of ‘porcelain’
is a porcelain patio the same as a landing strip?
Yep got porcelain on pedestals, laid it myself last summer.
Super easy to do and looks blooming brilliant if I do say so myself... but rubbish for burying other halves... bloated decomposing corpses tend to raise the odd slab or two.
Noticed they were looking a bit "green" the other day (from the standing rain water on them over the winter) I'll go out there at the weekend and give them a quick clean up... Im expecting that to be really easy..... any slight rust staining from the BBQ bottle was easy enough to clean up in the summer.
Will let you know.
Pro tip: quicklime.
I'll be using them soon.
Interested in thoughts on the pedestals, especially from those having them a while?
I was going to get the ground level raised / concreted up but if they are a reliable long term solution, it would ave a lot of work & concrete and make the lighting a lot easier.
I over ordered and have got 100 or so in the garage.... yours for 300 quid
Think they go up to 170 ... defo 150... with self adjusting heads
Can you pebbledash a porcelain patio?
