Used to be a neighbour on Paddington Street, sad news.
do you still live on paddington st?
Very sad news indeed - a proper talent and a very intelligent woman.
She'll be missed.
Only a few releases over the last couple of decades, but all worth listening to.
🙁
Just thinking about her the other day and listened to "Germ free adolescents"
First Ari, now Poly. **** I feel old.
🙁 same age as me . . .
A real blast from the past thatone RIP.
anyone remember ActionPact from a similar era? George was hoooot!
Stoner no lived there a long time ago, also lived on Nottingham Place and used to drink in the Prince Regent, it was a classic laaarndarrn boozer.
Good article here
Damn - she was good. Spent ages on you tube watching/listening XraySpex just a few weeks ago - had no idea she was ill. Spex have stood the test of time very well - Warrior/Germ Free/Day Glo have all aged well she was a great shouter.
Saw her perform a few times at the Hope and Anchor, good stuff and loved the sexy saxophonist.
RIP Poly
one of my fave tunes, I even liked the discord datcord cover
THE classic intro
RIP Poly.
World Turned Dayglo is a really good track!
Loved X Ray Spex back in the day, one of my favourites
So, so, sad.
Poly (Marion) was a truly iconic figure who was way ahead of her time in identifying consumer culture. I only saw X-Ray Spex once in the 70's but they were fantastic. Still play their album quite a lot and it's stood the test of time.
Oh Bondage, Up Yours, 1234!
Rest in noise Poly.
🙁
RIP Poly.
