Following on from the thread regarding the trial of automatically generated links in threads I thought it may be useful to everyone if there was a poll where people could register their opinions on this matter.
Feel free to contribute.

Is that a link or a skim link? 😆

As I said on your other post, this poll allows multiple voting. Use a service that doesn't.

That would require a login - my idea was to keep it easily accessible.

I am starting a poll here to determine whether the poll should use a service that does'nt allow multiple votes or not.

strawpoll.me does not require a login. Limits voting via science.

What is a skim link?

Sorry, I'm old and need help with this new fangled technology.

EDIT: right, those awful things.

I don't think that either of the methods they offer is really a reliable way of preventing duplicate votes. In a small poll it could be fooled by a few different browsers on multiple devices from one IP address.

I'm not clicking on any links at all while skimlinks are used here.

Could just ask if anyone thinks they are a good idea?

If only there was a thread to discuss them.
