I have a middle flat in a 5-storey 200-year-old house. The soil pipe runs vertically through the centre of the flats, with all the loos and showers etc connected to it. In my boiler cupboard, an overflow is bonded to the soil pipe with silicone. The junction is now leaking so that everytime someone above flushes the loo or runs water, there's a dribble from the junction which goes down the outside of the soil pipe and causes water damage to the flats below.
Is there a way of sealing this without dismantling the whole thing?
Ideally a magic pixie sealant which can be applied to wet surfaces.
Any ideas?
Wet grab silicon.
Parkesie, ta! I will try it today.
I used "Plumber's Mait" to seal a leak on the soil pipe connection on the back of the pan - worked OK.
According to Screfix reviews, it's better than silicone:
