Planning sorting out our downstairs loo soon. I believe it used to be an outside loo, which is now part of the house but has the original loo still, so a bit past it. There is no sink so I want to fit one.

The waste pipe is a hole in the floor rather than the usual through the wall. There is no soil stack visible so I presume the soil pipe must run under the concrete floor several meters until it meets the main soil stack for the house,

I have seen swan neck connections to fit modern toilets. I also want to ru pm the basin waste to the toilet soil, as there is no access to any other drains, without lots of work. I've read this is fine, and you can buy the right part.

What I'm not sure about is the type of waste I need from the sink to make sure it is vented correctly. The pipe will have to run a short distance, ideally I would like it to run along the floor / wall, do a 90 degree turn and then connect to the toilet soil so I can box it all in neatly.

Advice? What sort of trap do I need? Can I run the sink waste horizontal to the floor for a short run? This will be a low use sink.

Cheers.

Anti syphon trap should do it

Would it not be possible to have a slightly deeper area boxed in along the floor so you can keep at least some fall in the sink waste pipe? Maybe make it a decent depth from the wall and use it as a shelf?
One other thing to take in to account is the suction effect flushing the bog might have on the water in the sink trap. I think there's a minimum depth of seal you'd have to achieve so you don't end up with and fragrant aromas making their way up through the sink after the trap seal disappears.
Massive pinch of salt required; DIYer only.

You can get those air admittance valves for your 32/40mm waste pipework, presumably they are for this purpose.

I would have some fall on the waste pipe, you don't need much. The last thing you want is 'material' possibly entering the sink waste from the soil pipe, and settling.

You might find the hole in the floor is too far from the wall for a modern bog. My last place, I boxed out and tiled behind the toilet, but the guy did who my current house simply build a shelf behind the cistern which looks much better. I tried to get the pan as far back as I could by using a swan neck pan connector, but it hit the footprint of the pan so had to use a normal 90 connector.

You would probably need one of these...

And one of these...

Run the pipe from the pan bend with a 90 deg bend straight off the top and round wall with a slight rise all the way to the basin, then 90 degree bend upwards at the basin centre and in to the trap.

Or, if you have space, you could build a bulkhead behind the wc to hide pipes. This would allow the basin waste to be closer to the floor if required as you could re-pipe it without the pan connector linked to above.

You'd need to check the regs, but I've used one of these on a free-standing bath
