I need to clean out the calcium between the cistern and the toilet bowl, its one of these irritating built into the wall cisterns, that means I cant get at the actual pipe, The jets around the rim look ok, I managed to get the workings out of the cistern and actual cracked off quite a bit of calc build up before refitting them, but the flush is really weak so I suspect it is the pipe that is getting clogged with calc.

Is there anything I can do to descale it without getting a plumber in to take the false wall apart and fit a new pipe? I have flushed through what appears to be some pretty strong descaling agent, but it doesn't stay there for long so probably still need something stronger, and I am in Germany so if the answer is chemical, I could do with knowing the chemical names rather than just "strong descaling agent".

If the pipe is badly blocked then surely the loo internals are a) smaller and b) more badly affected?

If the pipe is blocked by an occasional flow of water, how bad is the cistern?

TLDR: Are you sure that its the pipe causing the problem?

Hydrochloric acid (SalzsƤure). Googles, gloves and caution required. Available in any supermarket in France but there's non on the Rewe site so you might need a DIY store.

Hmm I'd not actually considered this might be an issue, might flush descaler through mine now whilst I can (hard water area and toilet has been in for 5 years, hidden cistern to - still flushing fine at the moment though...)
