I have a dripping vintage-style bib tap in need of simple DIY - Easy peasy I thought but the actual handles don't simply lift off when the internal screw is loosened as per all the instructions I've seen.

I thought the "bib" below it needs unscrewing after this bit is off but have I got this wrong?

edit wrong forum 🙄

You might need to persuade it off. Ours were welded on by limescale.

The cover beneath should then screw off. Should.

Might be worth getting a reseating tool in there or it could still drip after you have replaced the gland/washer.

it does have some limescale in there so I will try to be a bit more vigorous...what could possibly go wrong!
