Hi,
Friend has just moved into a new house. Showering this morning and it rapidly filled didn't really drain.
Got home and the shower is still up to the level of the plughole. Flushing the bog helped the shower to drain.
Blocked pipe? Airlock?
Cheers all
Impedded flow, the water from the toilet going down the drain created a suction which helped clear it.
Lots of drain cleaner, it's probably a lot of gunk and hair stuck in the shower drain
Cheers, suction effect was my first thought.
Friend has just moved into a new house.
Is it a brand new house?
Friends of ours moved into a brand new house and quite quickly had drain problems. Turned out that the main drainage pipe had never been connected to anything. Everything solid that had gone down the drain since they moved in was still in the pipe, and it explained the boggy patch near their conservatory.
Not new build 1910s terrace. Have suggested Mr muscle left over night. My other idea of a drinking straw was not well received.
Regularly happened with our shower due to long hair getting clogged with soap etc in the waste pipe...oxo hair catcher has done the job (i zip tied it to the plug hole to prevent it moving)
A wee go with a plunger might do the trick.
I sometimes wonder how some people actually get through life.
Tell him to get one of these and poke it down the pipe, never failed me yet
