Fitted a new Grohe shower a couple of months back.

All fine, but flow/pressure was getting worse a few weeks ago. Took it off the wall, and found the filter screen in the back of the HW feed was clogged. Brushed it out, stuck it back on. Pressure good.

Now it's happened again. Took it apart this morning and it's the same, if not worse. It feels granular to the touch. There is a couple of feet of plastic pipe running up to it, but that was all cut cleanly and de-burred properly before fitting. Used a single wrap of ptfe tape on the joint.

Anyone got any other ideas? We live in a soft-water area.

Disconnect and flush system. I built two different flushing systems for different uses.

One with a old Ch pump.
Other with a old shower pump.
Use a large container bucket whatever to pump in and out of etc.

Add filter upstream.

Guessing, some sort of dried* out silicone grease from the thermostatic valve?

*as in the hot water has stripped out the thin portion of the grease and left you with a silicone wax.
