Could I have recommendations for a good 'plug in doorbell' please?

The one we have at home drives me mad. It's temperamental and the ding dong doesn't seem to reach the attic which is the room I work in, resulting in missed delivery drivers and customers having to stand on the doorstep ringing me on their mobiles.
This is not good for business!

I got one from Argos, just some generic thing. Stuck the doorbell on the frame outside, plugged the bell in where it'd be easily heard, job done. Find out if your neighbours have one and make sure you set the bell to a different channel otherwise you get heaps of "fun" when you ring each others doorbells.

On a side note, it CAN be useful if you have a noisy neighbour in a flat. I reset my spare button to the same channel as the bloke downstairs and at night when he was noisy I could save getting dressed and going outside to ring his doorbell and do it from my bed.

Hee hee, sounds good atlaz.

Just wondering if a more expensive model will be fit for the purpose of getting up to a third storey?

I have one from argos. Not sure of the make but it will get up to 3 stories.

The very cold winters we have had recently really do drain the batteries in the button unit tho.

Well, I was going to post a link to my Siemens one but B & Q seem to have stopped selling it.

Anyway, it's a plug-in one but you don't actually lose the socket as there's one on the unit. At first I thought it was rather loud and a tacky chime but due to shonky hearing, it's worked out fine. 🙂

For example, it's plugged into a dining room socket but I can hear it upstairs.
