Ross & Clare were killed riding a tandem in Bristol by a driver who had been caught driving while disqualified a number of times. Their petition aims to increase sentences for this.

I know these things never seem to achieve much in themselves but hopefully plenty of signatures might at least bring some attention to the issue in the press.

I don't know them but I used to ride in the area and it struck a chord.

Ta!

Very sad, this crime isn't taken seriously enough, this is happening much too often, driving whilst disqualified should mean an automatic prison sentence, end of!

And here is another https://submissions.epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/56314

You may have heard about the death of Jade Clark, a 16-year-old who was
killed when she was hit by Brian Hampton, on the A31 while on her moped
travelling to work in February 2013. Banned for drink-driving at the
time, Hampton not only didnt stop, but he then attempted to cover up
his involvement by having his car repaired and lying to his family. He
was sentenced to six years in prison two for causing Jades death by
careless driving and four years for perverting the course of justice.

He has now decided to appeal his sentence because he thinks it too
severe. MAG thinks he should be locked up and the key thrown away.

Agreed. An extra 6 months ban seems the standard. Like that works.
