Not Rad8 due to product fail!

Thank you

I use these with a prescription insert - been fine for nearly 10 years

Rudy Project Rydons. And if you get bored with the photochromics you can always swap for something else.

Rad8. Have you tried contacting them about the product fail?

Anyway, I get on with mine just fine, and they've had good recommendations on here before.

I've just got some Endura Dorado Ii (a good bit below RRP from Certini).

Interchangeable lenses and can be used as full frame or half frame. Clarity,  water resistance (hydrophobic coating) and lack of fogging are all good.

Disregard if you need prescription

I have some of the Rudy Project glasses above and they are great.

I also have some of these:

which I find just as good, and they’re a lot cheaper.

I've got two pairs of tifosi which are decent and relatively inexpensive.

I like my Oakley Radar EV Path because I can change the lenses over on really bright days.

Yeah Rad8. Get in contact with them and they should sort out any issues you have 👌

I use these BBBs. They're fine and not silly money. (The Lidl ones are much cheaper, mind!)

Had rad8 for around 5 years, only issue was when I rode over them with my bike and broke the frame, contacted Anne and a new frame was dispatched the same day. Very responsive via their IG account

CRC sell Oakley Flak 2.0XL with photo chromatic lenses for £137. Which is quite a discount. I like mine.

Ooh, how did they fail?
I have 2 pairs, one is ok and the other looks like the lens has delaminated/melted/done something weird.

OP, I don't have wide experience but use Oakley's EV Zero on pretty much every ride.   Enjoy the lack of blindspots that frameless gives.

What were the ones someone was recommending from AliExpress?

Smith optics shift mag with photochromatic lens, they also come with a clear lens. Probably the best mtb glasses I've ever used. I use them for everything from epic gravel rides to enduro sessioning.

I got some Melon Optics Kingpins with the photochromatic lenses and absolutely love them!

As well as riding  in the day, I love riding around sunset and apart from when fully dark, I never really notice them…which is what I was looking for with a photochromic lens. Never have to take them off in the woods etc, even at low light and the lens quality is great.

Not the cheapest, but definitely with it. Also my frames broke somehow, and Melon were amazing to deal with a sent me out some new frames super  quickly. Would recommend them all day long!

I'm always disappointed by specs websites. No information on what conditions  the various differently coloured lenses are designed for and, more importantly for me, what prescription the RX inserts go up to.

Sounds like that could be it. So clear lenses when naked?

Julbo. As long as you get the lighter version, at least for me the 2-4 version is too dark for wooded trails.

Smith. They react so quickly that I forget that I’m wearing them.

Got some endura FS260 pros which seem to work well. Great value and come with 3 lenses. One of which is photochromic.

I got some prescription transition mirrors from reglaze glasses direct and they are fantastic. Very slight blue tint when in the dark, almost like the blue light filter you can get put on normal glasses, then when in the sun they look like normal mirror sunglasses.

I have some Aliexpress specials that were about three quid. They seem fine, but I've never tried more expensive ones.

Isn’t there a risk that photochromics are too dark when you suddenly go into wooded shade? Some are a bit dark even when fully acclimatised I notice.
Migh be best to stick to clear or yellowish tint (or Oakley Persimmon if you’re loaded).
I bought some emergency DeWalt glasses (clear) at Screwfix recently for under a tenner I think which worked really well despite the lack of exotic nose pads.
Fake POCs from Wish are pretty good if you want a posh logo. Various lenses.

If you need glasses for reading, BBB do some photochromic ones with a +2 area at the bottom.  Brilliant.  I got then from Merlin.
