Please recommend a power pack to charge my IPhone. I am a techno numpty. My 5s is struggling to keep charged on a 60 mile ride. Strava on, data off and battery longevity setting on. I’m after something light and simple to use. Ta..
Plenty of choice on Amazon but Anker are good quality, this is about as small as you'll find them and would provide a little more than a full charge for a 5s: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-PowerCore-Aluminum-Portable-Lipstick-Sized-Black/dp/B005QI1A8C
Something like this is about the size of a phone and will be good for 2-3 charges if you want more flexibility to use it for travel etc: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Ultra-Compact-High-Speed-VoltageBoost-Technology/dp/B07QXV6N1B/
There's a reason most phones don't have easily removable or replaced batteries these day's.
After a year or two you'll have to buy a new phone!
Anker never let me down. Have had a few, although larger ones up to five charges. The first one I got water in it accidentally and so upgraded it as it was on the blink. I kept it in a drawer and it eventually dried out and now works perfectly. I use it in a waterproof top-tube phone/gubbins case and power a front spot and also the iphone.
If you just want a small one with one port look at the Anker PowerCore 5000
I can second anker too but I just picked up an Energizer pack cheap from CRC of all places https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/s?q=energizer+power&cat=previous-search
Another vote for Anker - we've got a huge thing that must charge my phone about 5 or 6 times and a smaller more sensible one that still provides a couple of charges. Just pick the size vs capacity that you're happy to carry.
The other option is a case like this but you're stuck with it once you change your phone.

OP just data off or in full airline mode? Airline mode kills bluetooth, wifi and phone signal to save power. GPs is enabled when you fire up Strava or RidewithGPS or similar.

The reason is people want more functionality in as small and slim a package as possible.
The cost of replacing a battery - even if you go back to Apple to do it - is pretty trivial compared to the price of a new phone and people are keeping their phones for longer than ever. The OP's iPhone 5s was released in 2013
If you're just keeping your phone tucked in your bag or just need to top up from time to time then an battery and lead is fine - but if you're using the phone out and about and need to keep it charging/topped up the batteries that are integrated into a case might tidier to use

garmin 25 is £50 on sportpursuit..
New battery in phone.
