I’m taking my wife to Barcelona for her birthday in June and need a hotel for 3 nights (Sat, Sun, Mon), but having never been there I don’t know where is best to stay etc. Please recommend a reasonable (mid-priced) hotel. Thanks.
I just stayed here and the service was very good.

Got a room on the 20th floor with fantastic views overlooking Barcelona.
Ranks 15th on TripAdvisor (1st for Business) and is right next to Sants train station.

dooosuk, were you in a standard room, or did you book one of the better rates to get the fantastic view?
I booked a Superior room direct through their own website after joining the Expo club (free and easy).
The hotel also appears on Laterooms etc with reduced rates.
Have a butcher's here. They claim to offer the cheapest rooms.
I stayed here before the catalunya grand prix in 2009. Most of the Ferrari team were also there. Absolutely superb hotel in the Mont Juic district above Las Ramblas, you can get the cable car from the port to the front door!
Park hotel - we got lucky and were given the room on the top floor which had a terrace directly overlooking the old gothic town.
