Ok guys and gals I’m really hoping that you can help me out with this.
So a few years ago I had the pleasure of riding with a chap called Nick Crossley, he posts on here now and again and I’m sure some of you good folks will know him or have ridden with him. He’s been riding around the UK for a good few years and to be honest its his life. He loves riding a bike and like most of us it keeps him sane (I think). At the beginning of this year he became struck down with a mystery illness. This turned out to be a rare auto immune disease called dermatomyositis (I think that’s right) anyway in a few weeks he went from being a really fit chap to house bound and then onto being stuck in hospital. To say he’s had the wind knocked out of him would be an understatement. He’s got a long way to some recovery with things like chemo and the like and if your interested in seeing his fingers fall off you can follow him on Facebook as well. Some of the stuff hes going through is beyond unpleasant!
Anyway to cut to the chase. We all love and care for Nick and some of his work buddies have organised a ride out in honour of him and to try and raise some money for Myositis UK which is helping Nick and others come to terms with this crippling disease. They are organising a ride out that will start at Lloyds bank in Sowerby bridge (where he worked) and ride past his house. Its at a bit of strange time but if anyone is free around mid day on Thursday the 11<sup>th</sup> October I’m sure they wouldn’t mind. I would post more but this is all I know at the moment (ill update it when I get more info). The main thing about this is to cheer Nick up and also to raise some cash for the charity.
