[Closed] plastic fumes - how dangerous ?

There is an office downstairs from mine that makes signs, the fumes from the process have recently been directed out of there window..rising straight up into mine.
Are these fumes dangerous to be exposed to on a regular basis ? Its a melting plastic smell.

I would guess so thats why they are venting them out of their window. Go down and have a word.

Depending on the plastic it could be quite harmful.

they are causing you a nuisance, so if you can't solve it with a quiet word your local EHO will gladly get involved, I'm sure.

Ask what IPPC arrangement is (think it's still called that) for emissions to air, and what their monitoring arrangements are.

If needed the council will also have a department who deals with this.

Even if the fumes are not hazardous to health (which they probably are), the fact that it is annoying you is a nuisance. This should be addressed and Environmental Health contacted if it cannot be sorted. Whether or not you look like a dick is another matter...
