Just been quoted £350 to plaster our conservatory.

This is for 3 small walls (600mm ish high) and big wall (3.5m x 2.5m ish) which was the house exterior wall. This includes all materials and labour.

Just wondered if this sounded reasonable? Seems it to me.

Ta!

Probably a bit high based on the area to cover but if thats the only areas you want done then obviously you have to consider if you'd get anyone to quote a lower price on a small job.

Ours charges £160 a day all in, and does a pretty good job.

Including materials? That seems cheap.

Is it just skimming, or plastering from brick?

Plastering from brick. So lined with plasterboard then plastered.

That makes it a two day job. 1 guy... 2 days.. plus materials... Sounds a reasonable quote to me.

sounds a bout right, the thing with plastering is the edges, so it does not take twice as long to do a wall twice as big.

Depends where you are based, ease of access, parking charges, current state of flooring etc.

I would get another 2 quotes to see if it is about right.

Yeah, he was really cheap compared to other quotes, but came recommended by friends so decided to risk it. He did most of our ground floor which was anything from plastering from the brick to skimming the ceilings. Am happy with the work so can't complain. Included all materials too.

You could dot and dab, and skim that in a day including fixing any stop-beads if needed. Pribabl has a few sockets to contend ( cut out ) with.

I've just had a quote for overboarding and skimming our landing. 14sqm and shaped a bit like an F. Quote we had was £390 inc materials & labour - seems about right. Two days work.

Does the guy work for a company? As charging that amount, he might be skimming off the top.

Ah! My coat!

I dunno. They are pretty bad. Probably time to throw in the trowel.

So when did plastering earn people 200 a day? OP I would say 350 is over what you should be paying. I got charged 450 for a room and stair wall last year.

Depends how much you can do in a day, materials and other costs. Take of running a van, insurance, VAT, NI for employees etc. and you don't earn what you charge. I've lived in places where plasterers were in huge demand that would lead to higher pricing.
