Looking to take myself off for a long walk this summer, 20-25 miles, point to point, ideally from one railway station to another. I have a few ideas but would welcome some input.
So, 2 question.
- Best website/software to plan the route. I'm looking for countryside, so paths, the odd country road, the occasional canal towpath, that kind of thing.
- Ideas on where to walk or existing routes that are accessible in a day from the West Midlands.

Is start with an area you want to go to, then look at either rail or bus map. Then use Komoot or similar to plot between the two points. Lakes is a bit far for you to do 25 miles in a day, but the bus network is excellent for point to point walks.

(Paid) Strava is pretty good for that.

I'd just use Strava (but I'm a paying member) and cross check with OS mapping layer on Bing maps.

Look at the Monarchs Way and the Jack Mytton, both you can do from your front door pretty much
