So, I thought to myself why not take a can of Tuna and some dingbox rice for lunch, saves going to the shop with my bike on the roof (not the best area round here).
So I'm doing my porridge in the little kitchen we have in the site accommodation and check for a can opener, there isn't one!!
Any tips for opening a can of tuna with basic office supples ❓ 🙄

I thought tuna had a ring pull. Have you checked? 😉
Maybe a key, or a knife to bash holes in the top of the can... [edit] or a spoon 🙂

You must buy that fancy stuff from Waitrose 😆
Fortunately there is rather a lot of concrete around here
don't you put it in a shoe and bang it against a wall or something?
Nah, I'm a Lidls man 🙂
Funny though - I had a can of tuna and a can of sweetcorn. Sweetcorn has ring pull, tuna needs opener (or spoon). How do they decide which gets the ring pull and which doesn't??
I think Tuna have finally worked out how to use a ring pull.
Surely you have a multi-tool in your EDC or a tin opener in your BOB?

What on Earth are you on about?
have used a kitchen knife or pocket knife in the past.
1) Small punctures at 1/2 cm intervals or
2) small punctures and keep hitting the blade against the cuts if that makes sense
@ Tricky - thanks for the re-post 😆

Nothing sharp around here, they've all been outlawed 😯
edge of a spoon and a lot of rubbing to wear the metal down along the rim?
Put it in the microwave then scrape the remains off the kitchen walls remembering to avoid the metal pieces from the explosion
If you've got a sturdy knife available that you don't mind blunting, you can hack the top off.*
*so I'm told.
take the hint - your colleagues have hidden the tin opener to avoid the stench of tuna

If that's the case, they've hidden all bar 2 spoons, a fork and 3 teaspoons too
... and there you go; not an angle grinder to be seen 🙂
Put it in a plastic bag, go outside, place tin on it's side on something concrete, smash your foot down on the other side. It's not strong with force applied that way, I'm sure it'll break open
Rubbing down the rim of the tin on the concrete outside will also work
Personally I keep a little swiss army knife at work, bottle opener and corkscrew seemed to be used quite often! Can opener is a secondary benefit
Just punch a hole in it and suck the juice from the can,
Or just stab it on your chainring and then drive over it.
I ended up using a normal eating knife and just hacked my way through the can, didn't even cut any of my fingers off 8)
Good. Not sure I liked chip's idea of sucking fishy juices through a small hole.

Dremel then?
