Im heading from Stoke on Trent to Weymouth and was looking for somewhere to stay overnight, somewhere between Stratford upon Avon and Oxford.

I expect to get there around 6-7 pm so looking for a nice pub to eat and sleep and maybe a little look around the local area.

any suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

Deddington Arms, in our village.
You then have a choice of pie pub, great curry, 4 great pubs, and two dreadful Chinese restaurants.
Next day you could have a wonder around Blenheim palace before setting off.

See late rooms for good deals on DA

Google is chucking it up as a 4hr drive all in?

Stratford has a choice of places to eat but you will only just have got going then, Bristol on the M5 would be the other obvious one, but your nearly there then.

Leamington Spa? Nice town, few pubs and restaurants, much worse places to end up.

The guy might just be traveling by bike, this being a bike forum, Mike. In which case Mcmoonter posted up a couch surfing thing for cyclists not long back, it'll be in his recent posts.

Hi Yep i know its not a long journey but i am over from Jersey buying a car, hence my day will go from shopping in Manchester at 9am (to please the wife) followed by collecting new car from Stoke around 4-5 before heading down south towards the ferry at Weymouth an i need to be there by 11.30 Sunday Morning.

the shopping and stay in a nice pub are required to ease the purchase of the car with the other half and i would like to spend a bit a time in the place if we are paying for the room!

The Deddington arms could be an option, as we were looking at the stow or Bourton on the water area.

Cheers
