Going to see Iron Maiden tomorrow night at the Metro Arena and fancy going out afterwards if possible to get a bite to eat (probably curry). Can anyone recommend anywhere that will be open later (that is reasonably easy to get to from the Arena and/or Premier Inn Newcastle Quayside)? Or will we be better off getting something before the gig? (Normally we go to Sheffield / Manchester where I know I can eat afterwards, only ever done Disney on Ice at Newcastle so don't know what it's like for eating later on.
Cheers
Wierd,
sachins is the name of the place, not home.
Hey,
I'm going too, taking my 10 year old son to his 1st gig!
No idea where to get a good curry on the quayside.
Mantra (which is Thai) on Forth Banks used to be nice when it was a Chinese but I'm not sure how much use that is to you. It is close to the Arena though.
Enjoy.

went here a few weeks a go - http://www.dosakitchen.co.uk/
that might be a bit too far out of town but it is very good.
more central & more pricey - http://www.uryrestaurants.com/
Cheers - that Sachins looks pretty good but I think we are going to be safest eating beforehand.
Loads of curry eateries in " China Town " on Stowell Street ..you will have no problem getting a table ..
Chinatown
Stowell St, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4XQ
Dabawal
Fat Hippo
Kaltur
hodg - will they be open late (as in to midnight as a minimum) on a Tuesday night do you know?
You’ll be better eating before if you’re out that late unless you want a dirty kebab.
That's the bit I don't know ..they will be open prior to the gig though if you fancy an early one ..
Have a great night by the way ..
Aneesas curry buffet behind the court house if you have time as they close at 11pm.

I have tasted many curry including Sachins etc but surprisingly Aneesas come out top and even my friend from ****stan is impressed. He is the one introduced us to Aneesas.
You will not be disappointed put it this way.
😀
p/s: Also they have the best daal that I have eaten in my life but this dish is not available often.
Sachins is pretty expensive IIRC - the owner likes to be in the local fancy glossy high-end house selling magazine doing Ferrari/Lambo car reviews. Last time I went A couple of Indian colleagues saying it was well flavoured, my mild nearly blew me head off!
Akbars is close too (only maybe 200m futher) and thats nice (and bigger). Get yersel a proper size naan bread ...

Riverbeat is supposed to be good although I've not been yet. Asian tapas. Bit different. Probably not open that late though. Gateshead side of the Swing Bridge

Yeah work in Leeds so know Akbar’s very well - so won’t be going there. If I can, I’d rather try a proper local place but being a bit of a beggar being midweek I’ll take what I can.
