I know York well but haven't been out to eat there for ages. My wife is having a girlie weekend so I have been tasked with recommending somewhere!

Any cuisine but must have a decent vegetarian option, must be central York and up to mid-priced (ie, £30ish per head excluding drinks).

Thank you

Ambiente Tapas is good but been a while since I've been. Also the Yak and Yeti Napelese place is nice, they have a few veggie options.

Coto Vietnamese on Swinegate is very nice. Do a nice Margarita as well!

Took my lad to Ambiente last time we were over. Good food, suprisingly large portions for Tapas.

Mrs Rock and her friends go to Lucia’s in York. She took me last week and it was pretty good. The pan fried pork belly was lovely.

It’s kind of decor like the Ivy, but maybe a bit less ivy.

Partisan, on Micklegate, across the river. Excellent veg food, good coffee.

If they want Italian, Mama Mias on Gillygate is brilliant. Long established place with top notch food.

Same to be said for Trinacria over the river on Bishy Road (only a 10 min walk from the town centre). Few nice little places to drink around there too if they want to escape the hen/stag do hell of the centre...
