Have we done Piers endlessly retweeting the image of him tongue-punching Trump's fartbox yet?

Piers knew exactly what he was doing retweeting the caricature, he gets talked about and invited to comment on the image whilst having a poke at the morality of the BBC publishing such an image whilst also pointing out the fact you would not get such an image of Theresa May buried up to her back teeth in Angela Merkels arse.

It's a win all round for Piers, hope he uses mouthwash though.

On a post watershed political satire show? Really?

Personally I think it’s a perfect metaphor

Slightly offensive cartoon vs fake photos of our troops torturing Iraqis. I know which one I'd rather be responsible for publishing.

I think the HappyToast 3-D printed version is especially good.

Both horrible people who deserve it. And more, hopefully.

I am sure that Morgan would share a photo of his genitalia in a rat trap if he thought it would get him more publicity .

When you've finished with the Telegraph, you should head out and put your union flag at half mast, Jamba.

It the cartoon offensive though? Piers Morgan, certainly and they don't come much more offensive than the Donald. I personally don't find the image offensive. Morgan was odious in his subservience to Trump, sycophantic in the extreme and quite rightly deserves to be mocked for it. One of life's great mysteries is "Piers Morgan - Why?". What is he for other than to reinforce that you don't need talent, charm, skill or morals to get ahead in life and what sort of message is that for our young people. They already have enough role models in that direction. As for how Morgan comes out of this, I don't think he comes out of it well at all. The cartoon is an excellent representation of a particularly slimy interview between two terrible examples of humanity and the responses to his whinging and whining have been representative of what most of us seem to be thinking. Not win-win for Piers I'm afraid.

Really? So the BBC shouldn't be producing political satire? I know what you mean. With this shower at the helm, satire is pretty much dead in the water.

Why can't they just stick to some nice cookery programmes and the Archers, eh? Bloody communists!!!!!

I’m glad we live in a world where a simple image says more than 1000 words ever can.

Especially if those words are mainly 'span style' and variants of it.

“BBC wasting yet more taxpayers money”

Licence payer, not taxpayers.  Also quite a bit of censorship you seem to be proposing.

If you haven't watched the Mash Report* then its worth catching on player. It was a bit hit and miss in its first series, but seems to have got into its stride a bit this time around

Rachel Parris is particularly funny!

* though why would that stop you commenting on it?

Is there a thread yet started where Jamba doesn't massively lie. Like Piers and Donald.

Ah! Wait... It's that right-wing zealot thing, isn't it.

I love it every muppet that comes to defend Piers is effectively inserting themselves in as the next link in the human sycophant centipede.

Especially when advocating censorship ,  Its amazing that these precious righties must never have seen spitting image or the like back in the day!

I don't like it either, it paints Trump in far too good a light as he's much fatter than that.

This was painted on a nearby wall during the Brexit vote. I don't think any tax payer's money was spent, though.

I forgot the cardinal rule of the media: It's only okay to retweet satire if the subject is aligned with the Labour Party.

Satire works both ways. There's plenty of anti Blair stuff out there (although his lefty credentials may not quite stack up 🙂 ). There's a whole host of reasons why anti-right wing comedy tends to resonate more, though.

Private Eye has always been happy to stick it to whoever is in power, but there's obvs far more material with the current Tory gov & Brexit shambles.

The anti-Corbyn / Abbott "satire" memes I've seen on social media has all been dire TBH.

Exactly, this should be pointed out much more widely.
Morgan is a truly odious little shit, with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Just followed the link in the OP - "Retweeted" but said the same moronic thing over and over: "..if this was women!" - not "no way I'd stick my tongue up Trump's arse!". Oh no, not that. 😆

Satire's job is to speak truth to power; of which Labour have none as the opposition. They had their fair share of the stick during the last GE, Abbot's interview with the numbers wrong etc

I'm sure the guy that modelled it wouldn't be too hard to track down (first saw it on twitter a couple of days ago) and then maybe someone from the 3D printer thread might be willing to knock one up for you.

Or you could just buy one from the Mail on Sunday magazine

Indeed it does!
The development of cheap 3D printers has shown its benefits just for that statuette alone.

Thanks for the PSA - I watched the first episode or two of the first series and then couldn't be bothered, but that clip you posted is top quality - off to iPlayer now...

Hmm - watched all of the current series today, and whilst it was OK, that clip was quite clearly the highlight (though Rachel's spot seems to be the highlight of every show - her interaction with Nish is excellent).

Anyway, as you were - back on topic I've now seen the original presentation of the Piers cartoon, and it was quite clear from how it was presented that it wasn't what Piers seems to think - and I disagree with him, they would do the same to women given the same situation. But then it seems Piers is a lot thicker than I'd have expected given his unmerited success.
