I remember when all this was fields....
If you use Google photos, use this site mate.
I think we killed him.
The poor sod asked a simple question and got 3 different answers.
It's the STW way.🫡😁
I don't know why it's such a perennial question.
a) Choose a photo hosting site such as postimages or imgur. Upload your photo to it. Copy the link, this process is different per-site, see their instructions. Click IMG here and paste the link, it should end in a picture extension such as .jpg or .png
or
b) Subscribe to support the site, click the [Visual] tab on the editor and use the Insert Image button to upload from your computer/device.

Particularly as everyone on here is supposed to be in IT.
I keep trying to explain how to do it and I'm but a humble carpenter 😂
Click IMG here and paste the link
Which is hidden be default. You need to click on the "Text" tab at the top right of the reply box first and then the IMG option. You can then click back on the Visual tab to see the pic and add any text you want.
I didn’t know you could upload directly without post image etc good to know. Quick test image below hopefully
Only if you're a full member. The op isn't.
I'm convinced that uploading an image over pasting an image link produces a much lower res image.
Might be imagining that though.

There be dragons.
Just trust the image is there.
Seems to be that going back and forth between text and visual tabs is what causes all that crazy html gobbledegook that many posts have.
Best thing is to write your post and use the img tab for images as in my linked thread above, in the text view, then before you submit, copy all of the text in case a glitch happens, especially if it's a long reply, then hit submit. You'll see the image then.
If it's not there, nip back in and fix it with the edit function (within 15 mins. Exciting! )
Don't worry Kayak23. I've been a member/ non member since before the big crash 20 odd years ago and I still can't use this bloody antiquated forum.
It's certainly not luddite friendly!

Which I really don't understand.
With respect to everyone who has yet to bother to figure it out, it's really not rocket surgery. 😊👍
You say that whilst having two posts running about posting pictures!
Came here expecting a quiz about a mid 20th century magazine...
You say that whilst having two posts running about posting pictures!
There's a new thread about someone being confounded by posting pictures every once in a while, which is why I went to the trouble of trying to show how simple it is by taking a load of screenshots and starting a thread about it that I could link to next time it came up.
It's really simple and I think that pictures and video can add a lot to threads, which is why I try to help people by showing them how easy it is. 👍
