Morning all

Normally I use Flickr for hosting pic's but have found it a bit of a pita of late. Have seen Dropbox & photo bucket, any reason why not or any others to try. Just after simple, clean, straightforward gui.

Cheers all

Dropbox isn't really a picture hosting site, and most who've tried to use it as one have failed. I've used Photobucket for ages, but if you do use it extensively, be warned that they'll charge you for the extra bandwidth used for hosting photos on other sites like this. Flickr doesn't. I've started using Flickr a lot more now because of this, and because it's much easier to upload photos directly from iOS now than it was, also I used to find Flickr a pain to log into, now I can do it via my Facebook account.

I've been a long term Flickr user and woukd agree current GUI and app are a step backwards. I tried out Picasa but didn't like it, it's hard to argue with 1tb space on Flickr and I've now setup auto upload from phone (private) so all photos are effectively backed up in addition to computer. I'm just hoping they improve Flickr.

I'd ignore the 1Tb of Flickr, unless you're doing full backup of all photos direct to the cloud, in full original resolution.
In reality, that's just a number picked high enough that almost everyone won't reach, for marketing reasons. Both Yahoo and Google could say 100Meg, half a TB, 1 Tb or 10Tb free, and not have to change any actual storage provisioning.

Only reason I use flickr is because of the group sharing features, and I can see Yahoo messing this site up exactly like they've done with mail.

Picasaweb is where I put pics for "events" etc. where I want them filed in conventional albums, and is my sharing site of choice.

Dropbox also handy for direct to cloud, but it's blocked by lots of corporate networks.

I just use my Facebook account and set the pictures for everyone to see.

If I don't want the pictures to be seen I change the settings.

Works easily and is far more simple than Flickr which seems to barely work on Android.

that's why i use picasaweb/g+ on android.
tick one box, and it all appears there (if you connect to a network of course)
none of my pics will ever go on FB.
