this is a 1993 gs500 which cost me £170. i rode it from john o groats to lands end on friday 21st of june (longest day) to lands end stopping only for petrol, food and toilet breaks not using motorways in 24hours to the minute.
all in the aid of charity. i raised about £700 quid and the group i was riding with have raised a total of over £18k for cancer research uk. the rules were £300 bike maximum! some of the other bikes were properly hideous and unbelieveably the first bike to arrive at LE was a honda cbr125!!
Excellent work Jamie.
a honda cbr125!! 😯
Some cool bikes at http://www.iainclaridge.co.uk/blog/?s=bike
From which I found http://thebikeshed.cc/
I rode a Honda CD 175 from London to JOG, that took me about 3 days stopping in Newcastle. Was going to carry on to Cape Wrath but after three lonely boring nights in my tent in the rain (no iPods in those days) I was so depressed I went home.
yes i didn't believe it myself but my missus was there waiting at LE. it did 90mpg being held on the stop for 908 miles
At last a proper bike. The HRD I mean.
Great JOGLE story.
Some uber-cool cafe racers on this website: http://us.deuscustoms.com/motorcycles/
a google search for 'cool motorbikes' seems to indicate that my sense of aesthetics are out of kilter with most motorcycle owners.
In my opinion, there's nothing in this world
Beats a '52 Vincent and a Redheaded girl.
Now Nortons and Indians and Greavses won't do.
Oh, they don't have a Soul like a Vincent '52. 😀
Indeed mugsys, hence the B Rapide!
1000cc, V-twin. Proper.
Cheddar cheese and pickle
The Vincent motor sickle
Why is there a very small man balanced on the handlebars?

Its the only bike picture I've got, but it was waaaaaay cool at the time. My parents told me a while back that they got called into school by my teacher because she thought I was having delusions - telling all the kids I had been riding my motorbike at the weekend. They took great pleasure in putting her right!
Ah yes. The Fantastic Britten. Remember seeing them racing at Snetterton in the early to mid nineties and then seeing one in the museum in Wellington. RIP John Britten.
Now anyone got any photos of LC's?
I do love these street scrambler things that are all the rage now.
i have a basket case cb750 in my back garden just waiting for me to obtain some ability and time to try and replicate that one...
How hard can it be !!!!

Ah yes. The Fantastic Britten. Remember seeing them racing at Snetterton in the early to mid nineties and then seeing one in the museum in Wellington. RIP John Britten.
RIP Mark Farmer.
Agree with the street tracker look being fantastic, especially the ones from Deus.
Lots of great bikes posted here.. http://www.pipeburn.com/
It was nearer 30 years ago that I had one. Well, two actually. Then a ypvs then an RD400. Ying, and indeed, ding.
25 years ago I had one of these....
My best mate died on one of those many moons ago. 😥 Good lord that thing was quick. 😯
Theflatboy.... Niceish but the cafe racer bikes are not my thing. I prefer it in original form.
Another Vincent...

epicyclo, very nice, the pictures date you quite a bit!
Is that a Ford V8 Pilot?
Esselg - stunning! Loving the Indian 😀
Wrecker - the Yamaha is also a thing of beauty

It's an Armstrong-Siddeley Whitley (also mine). I got it for peanuts with a frost cracked engine block. Got some special high temp epoxy from Ciba-Geigy, smashed the cracked bits off and then glued it all back together. 🙂 (Yes, it worked).
The Norton Inter was a mate's. It used to frustrate him that my wee Triumph could blow him away, but it was so light I could lift it off the ground.
And more recently
