I suspect that in all cases both experiments were proven with a less critical subject before they were filmed with the bloke...........
You can test it as many times as you like I still wouldn't pull the trigger on the underwater gun. Takes a certain amount of bravery/stupidity I don't quite have.

Personally I'd be far more worried about the drop - it doesn't take much knowledge of fluid dynamics to know that if the bullet from the gun only makes it so far in testing (which they must have done), then if you stand twice as far away no bullet will ever reach you. Would be quite happy to do that one having seen a few test rounds (I suppose you should do the calcs as well, but who cares if the experiment works in practice?) No way you'd get me on the drop even having seen it tested several times - and I'm quite happy to take long lead falls rock climbing!
