Got loads of photos stored on a laptop (on hard drive) and I would like to access them on Android phones, nexus 7 and also an ipod. Don't really want to store them on the phone etc but want to able to access them when I want or store certain ones etc.
Any ideas of how best to do this? Have google account if that helps etc
I use dropbox, has auto pic upload app for phone/tablet cams. but in the house all my pics are synced to my nas drive so can access that wirelessly from any device.
If you have a Google account use Picasa. Easily access everything via the Google+ app on your devices.
Just started migrating to Google+, auto upload from phone, Google+ upload takes them off the camera and puts them on Google+ and backs them up to a location of my choosing... my NAS.
Google+ photos is essentially Picasa but 20,000 photos to upload is taking a while! Auto awesome, Google's automatic "play with your pictures/videos is having a great time 🙂
Edit- accessed from Nexus 7, Nexus 4, laptops and public albums to share pictures with grandparents etc.
dropbox works well (and allows you to sync your phone pics to it automatically so that if you ever lose your phone you don't lose your pics).
Google photos does the same and has no capacity limit for photos 2056x2056 (IIRC) or smaller.
Dropbox looks ok but I have over 25Gb of photos and videos so will have to pay. Will google+ work on ipod?

Yes. Or you can just use the browser
Couple of other approaches,
You could just share the folder on the laptop and then browse to it, using something like ES File Explorer.
Or there's the DLNA route; install Serviio or something similar on the lappy and use it to 'stream' your pics wherever you like.
How iFriendly either of these approaches are, I couldn't say.
