a good monopod.
Giotto do some really good carbon ones.
Hmmm. Tad expensive.
Don't use a monopod myself, but I've got a Velbon tripod that is pretty good.
Velbon seems to be a halfway house between the really cheap stuff and the Giotto & Manfrotto kit. They seem to have a few half decent options.
Have you tried the webbing strap monopod? Suprisingly good...
Trek-Tech?
I like the magnetic mount.
Hmmm. Tad expensive.
You said good! So it must be Manfrotto or Giotto, though not necessarily carbon. I don't use a monopod but I have two Manfrotto tripods that have bounced around in the car on a daily basis for 15 years - still as good as new. I call that a good buy.
Success with a monopod lies not with the device itself, but with your technique. Very useful and surprisingly versatile if you do it right.
If you must use one then the Manfrotto 681B with a 234pc head is a very good compromise on price and quality. I now only use a tripod for any lens over 300mm
if you want rally good value for money the 7dayshop ones are great
Bah if I'd known, I've got a hardly used Manfroto I could have brought over last Saturday - you could have had it for a pint 😉
