Saw this on another forum (I know, there's other forums out there!)
Theres a patch for existing photobucket pics if you have access to edit individual posts.
Insert "~original" after the JPG bit of your photobucket picture link............ has worked on all mine
like this................
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k67/370steve/GS750 retro/100_5444_zpsk9osgsya.jpg~original[/img]
This has worked on numerous forums. We are in the process of using it to rebuild as many threads as we can at Customfighters. It's laborious, but if OP's go back and do their own threads, it preserves a lot of good stuff
Don't kn ow if it'll work on here, but it might help some of you out.
It will work until someone at photobucket looks at where their bandwidth is going.
It'll work on here for any posts less than 15 minutes old.
Your example seems to be a bit of a fail anyway.
What? When? Where? Who? HOW? 😆

If I did it as an example you wouldn't be able to see the syntax! You'd see a picture
On a MacBook how do you make that squiggle sign ?

It's shift + £
I'd never even heard of photobucket until people started moaning that they'd changed how it works.

Nope, not for me!
Already deleted my account. That ship has sailed.
Me too, but many others have not and also use other forums
Yeah I switched....
Using Imgur, it's quite easy to use and not full of ridiculous adverts....so far.
Got stung when Photopic pulled the plug. Can't sort my photobucket and not going to throw any money at them. Can't get Google to work with a IMG so have signed up to Flikr today. Let's see if that will work
With Flickr you can only get a link that you can paste into the forum when using the desktop website (BBcode).
As far as I can tell, there's no way to get anything useful from the mobile app.
There is now! There's an add on called Flickr2BBcode on the Android app store.

Hit the "share" icon when viewing the photo you want, scroll down the options and you'll find it there.
Correct, you get the app shown on here.
I actually paid the £1.49 yesterday as I feel it's worth saying thanks to the writer
Yeah - I've used it a few times now so reckon it's easily worth it.
It's bad enough trying to sort it from the desktop nevermind complicating it with a mobile app
How come the photobucket ~ thing works for some and not others? Answer me!
I cleared out and closed my photobucket account anyway , with a rude message on the feedback form 😛
But it's actually easier as the add-on does exactly what you want it to.Tracey - Member

Can you post gifs from flickr?
Thanks for the reminder that I need to clear out and rehost my PB photos...
IMO they'll probs close this loophole anyhows, sooner or later. So, despite it working I'm still moving elsewhere.
Is there an easy way to delete everything from your photobucket account?
All I can see is how to delete individual images...
Page by page is how I did. Select everything and delete appears at the bottom.
There's any easy way to close the account. Not sure if that deletes everything!

not sure - noticed some pics on a live thread I'd uploaded to flikr still appeared as hosted by photobucket when went to replace them - think read somewhere that if you have one of the paid photobucket accounts - I only had lowest level - more storage no ad's - you get until the end of the year to upgrade - i guess they reckon people currently paying something are more likely to continue to pay

Not much help to anyone using iOS though...

I tried it, couldn't figure out how to post a photo on here, all I got was a blank box.
Just one of the downsides of using niche products.CountZero - Member

You have to get the link with .jpg/.gif etc on the end, so on phone open image in new tab and use that address. (I usually right-click & copy image address on pc)
http://postimages.org/ is better though - you feel like the pics are your own, rather than lost in the imgur scramble. Works pretty well on the phone too.
