I've taken a string of time lapse photos and would like to combine them into a short film but can't seem to find any software (preferably free) to do this. Any help appreciated

iMovie if you have a Mac or Windows Media Maker if you have Windows should do the trick...

Before you bring them in set the on time for each frame. Its in tools/options. I think it'll only go down to 0.125 seconds. After you've put them in the time line you can change the time by dragging them if needed.

I find to get good control it's best to make a movie then re-import and use the slow-down/speed-up effects to get the speed right. You can get plugins to give a wider range than the default.

EDIT, too slow.
