Can you catch anything on your android phone? I always have had Kaspersky or some other protection on pc but nothing on phone unless o2 are looking out for me or maybe the geeky squad.
Run a pc without and within a wee while its got a trojan horse using it as a livery stable or do i blame it on my son when limewire was on the go
Phone is never slow so must be healthy
Yes you can. Especially on Android

Yes there's a risk of malware and potentially viruses.
You have been chosen......
Only install app you trust and from Google's own playstore.
But even then they have found their way through.
Your best bet is to use 2 factor authentication for banking, email, anything important.

...and an iPhone. 😉
Never used any antivirus on my android and never had issues.
Sounds like lime wire on your pc is a big problem well it was 10 years ago. Just do a fact reset on your phone if your worried. Install windows security on your pc and go from there, no physical need to plug a phone into a pc these days just use cloud etc.
I was just comparing the pc from 10 years ago nightmare with a teenage son but im guessing im being too complacent as my phone never gives me problems although occasionally on this site you are a winner pops up then just close the window
Tonnes of malware apps. Not so much if any viruses.
Be careful what you install basically and make sure it's an official app, not a fake pretending to be the official app.
Likewise careful if installing apps outside of stores and rooted phones. You'll find many banking apps won't run on rooted phones for reasons of security.
A modern Windows PC (Win 10 for example)... Windows Defender. Job done. Don't need third party anti-virus bloatware any more. Same applies though, careful what you install. And yeah, even more careful if downloading dodgy stuff 😉

Yeah yeah I know. It was just a sly dig, but have a read of that list - almost all of them relate to hokey software installed on jailbroken iPhones from unverified sources.
The closed nature of the App Store, the app review process and the sandboxing of apps in iOS means that malware/viruses are still vanishingly rare on iPhones.
I accidentally downloaded some annoying wrestling news app recently when I was looking for a ringtone; Gawd knows how. Had to get GtiJunior aged 18 to sort my phone out.

Yeah the Play Store is poorly curated. I've heard a few times of peoples apps being cloned, ads and/or malware added to it and reuploaded under a new name and a load of fake 5* reviews to get them to the top of the search results.
It may also go on in the Apple store, dunno.

Apple supposedly review every app that goes live.
Supposedly.

It's a bloody difficult task though, the intent of code can be hard to decipher even when written well. So imagine trying to look for malware in code that's trying to be invisible.
