Free upgrade (ok, so it's not free as over the course of 24 months I'll pay for it I know)

Current HTC M8 held for 2 years to be passed on to the missus. Probs some good deals on the Galaxy s6 now the 7 is landing... Or a Note 5? (No concerns with huge phones... ) What else is good in phone land these days? None of this Fruit based phone mullarky either. Nosireebob.

Change to sim only and keep the M8 for another year then use the money you've saved to buy a new phone outright.

There's rumours of a M10 coming soon. 🙂

Don't go for a Samsung after using a m8. Touch wiz is absolutely pants. Htc sense is a lot nicer to use. Wait for the M10. I had a M8 and replaced it with a Sony Xperia Z5 great phone.

The thing I liked about the M8 was the dual speakers... Will the M10 have these or are we still in rumour central?

Not fussed about Touchwiz as I'd run a custom rom on it anyway so it would be more vanilla-ery Android

Is the Note 5 not that decent then? My mate's Note 4 takes some cracking pics for a phablet.

Nexus 6p? Twin speakers. Vanilla Android. Relatively good value. Worth looking at.

Another reason for the Sony the sound through external speakers and headphones is better than Samsung. Missus has a note 5.

I've upgraded from a xperia z1 to a galaxy s6. Feel like it's mostly a step backwards. Go for the z5

I'm on m8, running venom the rom which is based on touchwiz but has loads of customisation on offer.

My upgrade is due in a month or two and I've recently scratched the screen.. I wasn't going to bother upgrading if it wasn't for that.

M9 looks good but still commanding premium contact prices, and it's not enough of an upgrade to pay that much I don't think. M10 when it comes out, maybe, but nothings really making me exited at the moment, certainly not exited enough to pay £35 plus a month, so I'm facing a similar dilema..

If the contract price of the M9 drops when the m10 is out, I might consider that.

I've been looking at the following:

HP x3 Elite - camera is a bit pants apparently but massive size, B&O speakers and Mil spec durability, then there's win10 with continium?

X Series Pro - 3gb of ram when everyone else has 4gb, stamina mode, high MP camera but Sony can be hit and miss with cameras sometimes?

LG G5 - bigger screen than the S7 also less bodged android, B&O DAC module looks interesting, small replacable battery, widest angle camera, not waterproof?

Galaxy S7 edge - non removable battery, best low light/auto focus camera, touchwiz faffery, novelty screen on the edges.

Xiaomi M5 premium pro - 128gb but no sdcard, ceramic back, very fast minimal bloatware

I'm swinging between the S7, the G5 and the Xpro.

The HP hasn't got a release date yet and I want to see the camera samples but a 6inch screen would be nice, but would it be a nice enough package to sacrifice the camera for?

My experience with Sony has twice had me swearing they're worse than apple plus the screen is only 5inch.

My LG G3 has been superb I've even just bought a new battery for it as I'm still happy with it but its been 2 years, I like the idea of a good audio DAC though, that could be useful. It's getting some serious consideration.

The S7 lack of a removable battery irks me a bit as I run my phone using root and it's handy to be able to pull the battery occasionally, that said I'm very tempted.

Xiaomi M5, its good, but not that good I fear.

It's a tricky choice one that will probably be between LG and Samsung... I doubt it'll be an iphone though.

Installing Google Now Launcher reduces the impact of touchwiz on home screens etc. if Samsung is an issue.

My work J5 is running the Now Launcher and Google keyboard, feels similar to my personal Nexus 5, if that helps.

I'm quite fond of Nova to be honest, running on BrokenOS, which is splendid. (yes LG's stock camera is better but I use a GF1 for photos now anyway)
