Galaxy s20 5g.. a few years old but i love it..no need for new phone..
The charge port was getting loose, with iffy connection to charging/data transfer, so I did a simple charge port swap yesterday (also replaced cracked rear glass cover)..
No issues, a simple 7 screw, 2 plug swap type affair..
Phone works perfectly in terms of 'being an electronic device', and charge port now great.
But...I've lost my mobile network! FFS!
It shows bars, and often 4 or 5g there, but i've got no mobile network connection (on 3).
I can't see how swapping a charge port can affect this, but i guess it must have..
Annoyingly, it does VERY intermittently work..or did initially, now nothing...
Bar swapping the old broken port back in and crossing fingers, any other thoughts?

Maybe you unclipped a connector inadverently or have crimped/damaged a ribbon cable/connector while taking it apart/putting it back together.
Sounds like you need to open it back up & go over it with a fine tooth comb.
i'll give that a try (which emans orgering a sticky glue kit for the s20..which will take a week!), but honestly, it's 2 ribbon cables you pop out to move out the way, then pop back. one goes to teh power board (the bit i replaced) so if that wasn't plugged in, it wouldn't cahrge...
Hmmm...

Make sure the SIM card is sat correctly. Maybe it got misaligned when you were messing on.
Anyone else on 3 in the house who you could confirm is getting a signal OK? When I was with them there used to be very occasional few days where the signal just upped and left.
yeah - OH's 3 phone workls fine.
Now this is odd....
when i phone my number, it doesn't even ring or go to answer phone.....

OK - so it's deffo the phone as my 3 sim works in another phone..
Oddly, I put a friend's EE sim in mine (it's an unlocked phone) and though it reads the SIM, and shows it's EE, it simply can't connect to ANY network!
