Speaking to the docs it looks like surgery is the likely result...
Anyone had this diagnosed and if so, what did you do?

Nope, Can't help.

I have however, for the past 20 years, been a sufferer of Piemosis.

It's a terrible affliction which causes pastry products to pass through the semi-permeable membranes of my body from an area of high concentration (e.g. Greggs) to an area of low concentration (e.g my tummy.)

It's a curse.

no personal experience but would strongly advise not watching the Polish entry for Eurovision

Actually, a mate had it done while we were at University. Don't remember it being particularly bad for him, no more than a couple of weeks of no physical 'exertion' so to speak iirc.

Actually "Phimosis" is a pretty good candidate for the Stupid Names for Kids thread 😆

Three finger tap on the Macbook reveals it's derived from a Greek word meaning "muzzling".

*winces*

Edit : Sorry, that's phimotic not phimosis.

What is the cause of this condition?

I assume repeat cycles with topical steroid didn't help?

A plan with no drawbacks, then?

I tried various creams and soap as a teenager, oh wait.

Most likely it's bxo or lichen sclerosis of penis. We need a picture or really a biopsy to be sure, but we don't want a picture do we? Moderately potent topical steroids for 1 month is worth a go but usually ineffective in my experience. Circumcision is usually curative and a minor procedure. No sexy times for 6 weeks post procedure and at least 3 weeks off the bike.

This is a true story.

It can be quite serious.

I know a bloke who ignored it, couldn't clean himself properly and ended up with cancer in his 50's.

The treatment involved significant removal of the affected tissue. 😯

Not good.

Thanks, I noticed a few chaps on here have had their chaps chopped from another, err, thread, so seeing an urologist in a couple of weeks to get the expert opinions.
And rest assured, I will not be posting any pictures!

Mine was brutal but it was around 30 years ago and the surgeon was a dinosaur.

Anyone reminded of the joke about the consultant urologist, who collected all the foreskins he'd removed over the course of a long and distinguished career, and on his retirement gave them to a tailor to make something to remember his work by.

So he was slightly disappointed when his tailor friend handed him a gift wrapped wallet. Admittedly, it was beautifully made, but as a result of the collected remnants from 40 years of snipping - just a bit underwhelming. Until at his friend's bidding, he gave it a quick rub and it turned into a set of suitcases.

A chapped old chap sounds pretty awful.

Oh - you meant chopped?

I'm not liking the term "brutal" in the context of circumcision 😯

A pair of tin snips or a cigar cutter?

Either would have been better, thankfully he didn't do the job to try and sort a week later.

Oh and ask them not to apply an adhesive dressing to it as it's surprisingly unpleasant when they remove it.

Maybe you could protect your membrane with a pair of Greggings?

Yeah, I had this. Got circumcised. A couple of nights being woken up with the pain from 'swelling' while asleep stretching the stitches. I recommend practising thinking of things to take your mind off it. For example I used mental arithmetic, such as trying to multiply 277 by 36. Then a couple of weeks of discomfort wearing anything below the waist. Luckily for everyone I was able to work from home during this time. Then the sensitivity eased and all good. Job jobbed.

After that, maybe due to swelling inside, don't know for sure, when peeing I used to spray all over the place. I would pee in the pan, down my leg and up the wall simultaneously. That also eased off eventually.

If you need it done, do it. It's no biggie.

Yeah me too, bit sore for a couple of weeks and sit down pees for the first few days but after that all good. In fact when I think back to how it was I just wince. Better in every department post-op

My consultant talked through a couple of options but realistically there aren't any

I too was a sufferer. My surgeon's words were "I'm afraid I'm going to have to circumcise you."

"That's OK," I said, "no skin off my nose."

If you don't fancy the op you could try this,
If it's good enough for stretching your lugholes.
