How come nobody seems to be going nuts about price hikes anymore like they did when it was below a quid? Or maybe its just not on the news so much.

Don't really notice the petrol prices now, but the cheapest I've seen diesel is 137.9p / ltr in Bracknell.

8p per litre duty increase next year.

Where did you hear about that?

Blimey, that should help stimulate the economy then. 😥

129.9p at Waddington.
(I reckon about 40p for oil, refining, distribution, profit for oil company, forecort staff wages, profit for garage, etc, etc) and 90p for duty and VAT.
On my 55litre tank that's £49.50 I give the governemnt every time I fill up.

couple of places round me are now sub 130, and apparently sainsburys are doing a 10p litre off if you spend x in store.

You may object to the price of fuel but trust me on this, you can pay it as VAT, as Fuel duty, as income tax, as national insurance, it makes no difference to the government you will be paying it just a question as to which of your purchases they target.

Although it must be queried how high can they put up the tax before they start to loose money because the increase causes a reduction in fuel use?

It's a double edged sword though as less motoring means quieter roads, thus a better perceived quality of life and lower road maintenance bills. It's a cracking bit of stealth tax.

Means less congestion too, which is good for the economy.

There is a tesco near Stockton on Tees doing diesel at 135.9, no shopping needed to bring the price down either

I remember when 20 B+H were seventy five pence.

Sadly I was too young to smoke back then. It's almost ten times that now.

petrol was 37.5p per Gallon (8.25p per Litre) for 5 star

How much was it for other pop groups?

😆

The opportunity was there for the taking...

I normally get the 5p a litre off deals at our local tossco's as if you put them together it can often result in 15p off a litre 😉

I payed the equivalent of £1.23 (Diesel) instead of £1.38 a litre just last week which saved me £11 on a full tank 😯

Just paid 128.7 at Asda in carlisle which is 6p cheaper than the cheapest at home. Crazy that fuel has doubled in the 7 or 8 years I have been driving.

Was on holiday in Canada last year and they were paying less in cents than we are in pence, was under a dollar a litre

A colleague and her husband spend £500 to £600 a month on fuel. Scary.

Hard to believe it was only 89p/litre in Dec 2008.

These latest drops are a response to ASDA dropping their prices, aren't they?

Haven't put fuel in my car for over 2 months and still have over half a tank left. Price of fuel? Meh.

blimey, even at £1.40 / ltr they must be covering a hell of a lot of miles.
