You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Our electrician just put his hand on a dead rat in our loft, so looks like we need to sort out some rat termination. Thinking about getting pest control out from the council as it's not much more than buying traps, and they might be able to identify how the bugger got in.
However, our neighbours (semi-detached) are selling their house and it's under offer - if we get pest control out is there any risk of it affecting their sale (e.g. survey)? There are openings between our loft and theirs that a rat could get through so it could be affecting them as well. I'd guess it wouldn't be an issue but thought others might have experience of similar!
It's unlikely the surveyor would do any more than just stick their head through the loft hatch and shine a light around.
I'd be warning them to check the loft for obvious signs of infestation so they can discreetly remove them in time for any survey.
Obviously if the Rentokill van is sitting outside your gaff during viewings, that might be a bit offputting.
Your a nice neighbour. We has similar issue when selling our own house. Advised not to tell anyone, but that was our house. Surely if you neigbour sells and says he never had an issue then no problem?
Yeah, I might pop round and say we're going to be having people out and advise them to get theirs checked too.
Of course the neighbours could be moving due to a massive rat infestation that they have.....
