After suggestions please for a location to stay in Perthshire or close to for a family (non-riding) holiday in June 23.

Would like to be near to Forest / lower-level hills for walks.

Any places you'd recommend visiting? We've been to the Hermitage.

Thanks

Stayed in @Dogsby 's holiday cottage in Dumfries this year and was very pleased with it but would like to go further north again having stayed numerous times in Newtonmore and Killin.

A base in Dunkeld or Pitlochry would be my choice.
Both provide access to forests and hills - Pitlochry is a bigger destination with more facilities in the town, Dunkeld is perhaps slightly higher brow, but with more limited options for eating and drinking.
Aberfeldy and Kenmore are also options but they are perhaps less central with poorer access to the more eastern side of the southern Cairngorms.

Dunkeld would be my 1st choice.

Pitlochry is nice but I'd visit not stay.

Let's be honest there are very few bits of Perthshire not to like or stay in, lots of rivers, hills and plenty of trees

How many people?

I stayed in a great cottage in Aberfeldy, only 1 bed though so would only be suitable for a couple.

I'd go for Aberfeldy over Dunkeld IMO, there's more there, the supermarket is bigger, and less American tourists (it was mobbed with them in July). There is more riding from the door in Dunkeld however.

The only downside to Aberfeldy is you've got a short drive to get to the A9 for going south or north.

Anywhere around Loch Tay. Lots of lodges etc and loads of options for walking, kayaking or cycling. The Queens road to the Falls of Acharn or The Birks in Aberfeldy are nice easy walks. We’ve stayed on the South side of the Loch a few times and it’s fantastic.

We've booked this for May next year for our annual week away. This is new area to us, so looking forward to the week. https://www.holidaycottages.co.uk/cottage/76183-pine-forest-lodge

We had a great week in this place. Relatively newly built so the place is very clean and tidy. A few minutes walk down into Pitlochry.

The garden backs onto woodland which you can access via a little gate. We had a deer mooching around over the back fence most mornings and a red squirrel in the garden.

Stayed a couple of times at Tummel Valley holiday park (Parkdean), can sometimes get deals on the internet, was nice enough accommodation, close to Pitlochry, Tay Forest Park on the doorstep, Schiehallion nearby for those low level walks 😁 and Aberfeldy is just a short trip away as well.
