Ok Puma is getting sold as spares or repair. The insurance was £70 a month (I have 7yrs NCD!)Seems as this standard for Pumas/my postcode, 27mpg average and I'm sick of niggling faults/repairs on secondhand motoring so....

Is this a 'good' deal?

New C1 5dr silver VTR 3+23 @ 135 a month inc vat.

15k miles @ annum. Price break is crap for 12k-15k (80p diff a month)

Good deal?

I could buy a decent car for 3k but then you have wear and tear, MOT worry etc etc..

If you do go lease, aim for the lowest mileage deal they do. Then at return time you can see whether its better just to give back (and pay any 'fine'), or buy (and then sell if required).

Toyota are doing 0% on the Yaris and other models. Seat have couple of Ibiza models with close to £2500 off so are very competitively priced on a Lease deal. Neither are perhaps as powerful as the VTR?

I agree with your views on s/h motoring. I think you need to think through what you would want to do after 2 years, not sure I would want to walk away from that after sinking £3k in a C1?

Look at Marks and Spencer Loans, they do car loans with deferred payment over 1 - 5 years at 6% APR. Eg £10k loan with £3k deferred at the end. You can also keep the loan going at the same rate for another 20 months. IMO they offer more flexibility than the standard car lease deals offered by manufacturers.

£70 PCM! I pay little over that for a Celica 190hp & only one year NCB. Those C1s are fun, I hired one.

Yep although the Puma isn't a 'high' insurance group its charged high. Both my Subaru's were a lot lower at my old address 300m's up the road (further away from Trafford).

7yrs NCD/no points or criminal convictions.

I looked at Civic Type R 2005 reg.....£1200 at my postcode 😮 I think its because we are sort of near Man U grounds (fans/risk etc?).

LOVE the 1.0 engine in the Aygo/107/C1- out of 1st gear its amazing, like a mini 911 engine. Throaty/rorty and hilarious.
