Beautiful. When, oh when will there be a "new" John Peel? Everyone's scared to break out of their little box these days.

Bang Bang Machine's Geek Love in all its 9 minute glory... my fave Festive Fifty tune, ever, ever, ever. Just sublime.

Gawd bless John Peel.

I like this paragraph:

John wasn't always happy with what the listeners voted for and he was quoted as saying that he felt there were too many "white boys with guitars" making an appearance on the countdown.

Hee 🙂

I, Ludricrous and Preposterous Tales. Still never fails to make me smile and think of the old boy. Anyone else old enough to remember flexidiscs given away on the front of music papers?

that reminded me too. I have had a Stereolab anthology (Serene Velocity) on order at Play for 3 months now. Don't suppose anyone owns a copy and could do it for me in CD or mp3 format?

Link? Love that song, would have it on vinyl if my brother had done the decent thing before emigrating. Gave all his records to some stupid bint 🙁

I'll be seeing The Wedding Present on Friday in Wolves.

Wow, ta for that. I have a decade or so of them taped off the radio, but I haven't listened to them since my last car cassette player.

Ace!

The links go to .ram files, which I don't know what to do with. What do I need to do to make all the lovely music play?
