When did you reach your trainer peak and with what?
1985 (ish) aged 16. Full of hope and ideals, and had a pair of Adidas Tennis Royal.

Life has been downhill ever since.
Probably at the age of 16 with some blue Diadora Venice with big fat pink laces to coordinate with my Cerese pink Adidas First

Only time I have been current on trainers was when Adidas Torsion shoes were introduced back in the day. I got mine same year they became available, wasn't first to get but definitely they were cool shoes when I was teenager.
About 2002 (aged 29) in a pair of yellow and electric blue Onitsuka Tigers.
Like these but the blue was much nicer and the suede bits were blue too:

@chakaping - I've just posted the same ones in the other thread. Other than a pair of Adidas Gazelles I don't think I've had a pair or trainers since.
Adidas Torsion
Were they the ones that had the plastic "bone" thingie in the sole?
Puma Deciders. 1980s cool, properly comfy and astroturf soles that stuck like snot to a 2-year old's lip.

Pretty sure the bottom pipe under the swoosh should be blue not white, maybe those have faded. It was definitely coloured.
Nike Air Jordans (the first time around) - perhaps around 1990, they were the version IV ones - the standard ones were white, black & red but they did a ltd edition pair in white black & grey. The plastic triangle on the side was a mottled grey & black (and fun fact, they were on the opening credits of Grange Hill for about a second).
I got a pair for my birthday & became a minor celebrity overnight at school. It was the first time I ever realise that people actually gave a shit about this kind of thing.
I even had a few kids try to nick them out of my school bag, so stopped taking them to school after a couple of weeks.
Original version of these, if the image link works....

Also, the original Nike Air Huarache which I had in white & black, and some pretty cool Nike Air Max around 1995.
I used to work in Olympus Sport in Brent Cross Shopping Centre, so avoiding the temptation to constantly buy the latest new thing was pretty hard.
Nike Air Challenge LWP in black/teal, 1994.
I was 12 or 13. Mum let me buy my own trainers and I had a budget of £30, I somehow found these reduced in - I think - Olympus Sports.
I'd love another pair, but I don't think Nike have ever reissued them.

I always wanted a pair of Puma Hardplay. I never got any and now it seems they never existed, or at least I can find no record or picture of them.
I did have Adidas Tango and Tango Indoor which were epic though. circa 1989.
I’ve just posted the same ones in the other thread.
*fist bump*
I also had some red, yellow & blue ones which looked pretty fly back then.
Now I just get whatever fits me best for about £30 in TK Maxx.
Peak trainer for me was a pair of Troop basketball boots whilst wearing a Public Enemy t-shirt. I was like Tim Westwood but even shitter.

Trainers are still my favoured choice of footwear today, though I still can't bring myself to pay getting on for £200 on a pari of Jordan 4s.
Peak trainer in my youth was getting a pair of Air Max BWs whilst on holiday in Singapore before they'd landed in the UK.

In adult life it was getting hold of a pair of Air Max 1 Yeezy, I've even been stopped on the street and asked about them

Probably mid 80's when my parents caved in and bought me my first pair of Adidas Kick
I could never understand what made a trainer cool or not, I remember when air jordans came out and a handful of kids had them in school and the crazy prices of them just automatically put me off the idea for life. If I ever owned cool trainers it was a coincidence 🙂
Can't do images but peak trainer was definitely passed after the Adidas ZX 600 - I still have a pair in my collection 🙂
Probably when Troop and SPX were a thing. So when I was 12 or 13. Moved on to skate shoes in my teens and now a vivobarefoot man in boot and shoe flavour.
When I was a kid you could occasionally find '99' basketball boots at the market. They were laughably cheap and cool a.f.
They were above ankle height, canvas, and had big chunky soles. Oh, and '99' written on the ankle.
The nearest I've seen to them in recent years is Palladium:

... but they're not the same.
About 2002 (aged 29) in a pair of yellow and electric blue Onitsuka Tigers.
I love my Onitsuka Tigers. Currently rocking a pair of green Mexico 66 but am hoping for these for Christmas

1993 Travel Fox. Never beaten them since
