Advertised on the back of a caff bog door.......
Just the thing after a morning kite surfing......
I bet the locals prefer this to the row of blokes getting changed next to their cars, too tired and cold to be fussy about towels blowing away that was the Rhosneigr I remember (windsurfing, not some kind of beach side dogging)
When we first started to go in the mid 1980s the village was a bit of a dump. A few b and bs. The windsurfing shop and a club you needed to be a member of to get a drink. Soon developed into a windsurfing mecca. Went back a few years ago and the place had been transformed since we last windsurfed around 2002
We still have all the gear in the garage loft. Think it was last used about 2005 in Fuerteventura when the lure of Verbier and the Alps took over and gave me the same rush as the waves without been wind dependent
I spent many days there in the mid to late 90s. Eventually I got fed up with waiting for the right wind and tide combos, plus the long drive from Manchester. Sold my kit and headed for the mountains instead 🙂
It's lovely now.
Done most of the coastal path and it just gets better.
Weather a bit grim up the mountains this week, so from Abermenai Point up past Newborough, Malltraeth and on to RAF Valley over the last couple of days.
All places we both thought we knew well, but it's been delightful.
The cafe in Malltraeth is good and cycle friendly
and a club you needed to be a member of to get a drink.
And that club was my cousin's!

I think it's still a bit crap but way better than the 80/90s
