As above, noted on the ride Sheffield site that it was shut for forestry work, is it open again?

It was shut last week when I rode up through the plantation. It looked like a fair bit of logging was going on. Not been that way this week tho..

hello cnud. I am looking out at lady cannings from my kitchen. It's chilly, though not freezing with a gusty south westerly wind and a bit of rain in the air.

I've just stuck my head out of the back door.

what that'll mean on top is that going out towards fox house will be a bugger over houndkirk, but coming back good fun. Head out blacka way and do the edges 🙂

Cheers, for that. I was going to try the eastern moors loop and maybe fit in Blacka or the top of Linacre loop. Weather apps are very inconsistent this morning though with some saying 50kph winds with the severe weather warning.

I don't know whether it's official, I meant to ask on RS Facebook yesterday, but when I walked the dog there yesterday morning, some fencing has been laid down over the very muddy temporary entrance and a good couple of dozen people were using it yesterday. There are a couple of official looking signs on posts there that makes me think it is properly open.
We did blacka yesterday afternoon, wouldn't fancy anything out in the open. Houndkirk will be grim!

I've asked on ridesheffield Facebook so someone who knows will answer on there.

Gave Blacka, Houndkirk and Lady Cannings a miss and did Eastern moors tour and Shilito woods. Pretty wild on top of Curbar and Froggatt edges! Great fun though.
