Text on websites sometimes looks a bit washed out until I select it all; then it goes back to normal.

Occasionally, after sleeping, the PC crashes when I put in the password and when it does, the screen goes very weird for about 2 seconds before it all crashes.

?? 🙁

Which web browser? Firefox has a setting to change the way it renders text. (Go to about:config and disable gfx.content.azure.enabled)

cheers

Can a monitor cause a PC to crash ?

(that gfx setting was already disabled, and I miss "here be dragons" 🙁 )

I've reloaded latest driver for it and we'll see how it goes

(What graphics card for someone who "ain't playing no games, fool !" ?

Can a monitor cause a PC to crash ?

Only on television.

Does it only do it when recovering from hibernate? Sounds more like a driver issue, that. Disabling hibernate is cheaper than a new graphics card.

been googling
created a new boolean doodah in config and set to true:

layout.paint_rects_separately

Might just be working for the text rendering - I'll have to wait & see about the crashing
